Hiring & Staffing Office

The University of Wisconsin Survey Center's Hiring and Staffing office is located at 1180 Observatory Drive, Social Science Building, Room 2412. This office is responsible for staffing limited-term and student interviewers, tracers, and mail survey support for the UWSC. The staff reviews the applications and contacts those whose qualifications best meet our needs. Selected applicants are scheduled for a personal interview, a typing test (required minimum of 30 wpm) and a mock interview. The mock telephone interview demonstrates the work involved in conducting telephone surveys and ascertains the applicant's ability to perform the work. References are thoroughly checked and the top candidates are evaluated and offered positions. Those hired will be working at the UWSC telephone calling center at 630 W. Mifflin Street. The UWSC field operations consist of approximately 200 employees.

Hiring & Staffing Office Location on UW-Madison Campus

There is no public parking on Observatory Drive by the Social Science Building until after 5:00 p.m. You can park in the Lake Street ramp and either walk up Bascom hill or take a bus from the Memorial Union.

Directions to the Hiring and Staffing Office (1180 Observatory Drive, Social Science Building, Room 2412):

• Enter the Social Science Building on the 6th floor off of Observatory Drive, which is the ground floor where the bell tower/carillon is located.
• Once inside, go toward the back of the building to the NORTH ELEVATOR.
• To get to the north elevator, you will go down a long hallway and through a glass door.
• Take the elevator to the 2nd floor.
• Room 2412 is directly behind the staff mailboxes that you will see when you exit the elevator.
